Job Description
Join a multidisciplinary, multicultural, and international team as a System Engineer and contribute to the analysis, definition, and development of advanced signalling system architecture and functions for the rail transport sector. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure robust, safe, and optimized system designs.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze, clarify, and confirm input requirements and needs.
Perform conceptual design including system models, design studies, design rationales, real-time analysis, modelling, and mock-ups for technical de-risking and optimization.
Resolve system interfaces and ensure formal modelling and requirements writing according to design standards and guidelines.
Maintain and formalize system specifications and ensure traceability throughout the documentation.
Collaborate with RAM, safety, sub-system, cybersecurity, software, product, and V&V teams to develop design concepts and ensure specification completeness.
Conduct and participate in technical reviews, including consultations with end-users and experts.
Interact with other system engineers and technical teams to ensure alignment with the intended architecture.
Keep abreast of technological advancements through continuous surveys and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Ensure system standardization by reusing or implementing reusable solutions and providing deployment tools and user documentation.
Support program external stakeholders, including customers, users, and tenders.

Profile Needed
Education:
Engineering degree (Bachelor +4/5 or Master) in Electronics, Telecom, Automation, Electrical, Robotics, or related technical field.
Experience / Skills – Required:
Strong analytical mindset, rigor, and proactivity.
Good command of English and French (oral and written).
Basics of programming languages.
Good clarity, rigor, and conciseness in writing expectations in English.
Experience / Skills – Assets:
Experience with modelling methods such as UML, SADT, SysML, Matlab.
Experience in writing specifications and ensuring requirements traceability.
Background in safety-critical systems (automotive, aeronautics, railways).
Knowledge or interest in system design and system engineering.
Familiarity with railway signalling systems, including ETCS or CBTC.
Knowledge of communication protocols.
Understanding of development methodologies (V-cycle/Waterfall, Agile).
Behavioral Competencies:
Analytical mindset, rigor, autonomy, and perseverance.
Strong team spirit and good communication skills.
